Platysmal neck bands are created by loss of elastin in the skin from aging. These become more prominent when creating facial expressions or various movements. Botox helps by relaxing the muscles in the neck which reduce the appearance of these bands. You will see effects after 3 to 5 days but typically, it takes up to 2 weeks to see the full effects. You may need to repeat this treatment a few times to get your desired results. Pain: the treatment is not painful. You may feel a slight pricking sensation when the needle is inserted and product is injected. Recovery: there is no recovery time. You should expect redness in the treated area which will go down in a few hours. You may experience bleeding or bruising at the injection sites which will resolve in a few days.
